Experience in WRITING 1

Learning Writing 1

Writing 1 was one of the eight subjects that I had to learn in semester 2. This subject was thought by Mr. Saunir and Mrs. Witri, but in the middle of the semester Mr. Hafiz replaced Mrs. Witri’s position because she had to prepare her baby born. Even though Mr. Saunir and Mr. Hafiz thought in the same subject, they had different methods in teaching. Mr. Saunir asked us to make an outline in Mc. Power Point for every subject, and then one or two of us (it depends on the time) presented it in front of the class. For Mr. Hafiz, usually he explained the material by his self using in focus. Both of those methods were good for explaining the material, but I prefered to the method that was used by Mr. Saunir. Even though that method would make me busy every week for making the assignment, wanted or not we had to work at home and did the home work. So, directly we had known the material before explaining by the lecturers.

In writing, we studied about how to create a good paragraph without making mistakes for many times. That was not easy for me because writing is an activity that needs an imagination and good creativity to show up what we feel or what we want to show to the reader through the writing. For me, needed a long time to think what I wanted to write and appeared the idea. It was not easy for me to write a story or anything that the lecturers asked me to write in a short time.  I had to considerate every word or sentence that I would use in a paragraph or an essay to make sure that I had made the right one. On other hand, the lecturers always thought how to make a good writing by showing where were the mistakes that I had made, and it really helped me for making the next writing without making the same wrong. The wrong thing that I usually did was about the grammar and in choosing the right word that had to be used.

Good or not a writing, also depends on how the writer make the reader believe in her writing. It was why in the last semester the lecturers asked us to add some references in a paragraph or an essay that we made. We have to find any proof for proving what we wanted to make. So, after the lecturers said the topic that would be discussed for the next week I looked for the sources on the internet or from the other sources. For example when Mr. Saunir asked us for making the description paragraph, I made about the Eiffel Tower, so that I searched the important information from the internet and added my own opinion. For that moment, I got a chance to present my paragraph in front of the class and Mr. Saunir commented about the wrong grammar I had made.

So, these are my experience in studied Writing 1 in last semester and also my opinion that I think about the Writing 1. However, I feel satisfied enough for my final score in Writing 1. That is all I can write in this chance.
